At Clinical Edge (CE), previously named Physiotherapy Healing Solutions (PHS), we believe continuing education is vital in progressing the skills of each Physiotherapist, and that top quality education will improve the assessment and treatment every patient receives. We want every Physiotherapist to be able to access fantastic education to transform their treatment and enjoyment at work.
I imagine Physiotherapists having a patient that they are unsure how to assess and treat, and immediately viewing a video that helps them know where to take their treatment. I imagine a patient limping in with knee pain, and their Physio refreshing their memory on how to treat a fat pad impingement while the patient is in the treatment room.
Prior to 2011, all Physiotherapy continuing education in Australia, New Zealand and Japan convened by PHS, has been via traditional face-to-face, classroom style methods utilising anatomy laboratories, anatomical models, lectures, supervised practical components and hands on teaching methods.
Some of the lecturers that have presented and continue to present for Physiotherapy Healing Solutions include David Butler, Dr Lorimer Moseley, Andrew Hutton, Susie Bond, Robyn Gant, Tim Mann (Manips Physio), and Linda-Joy (LJ) Lee. Education received face-to-face and with practical supervision is invaluable, but is not always accessible to all new graduate Physiotherapists, rural Physios, experienced clinicians and physiotherapy students.
Our vision for 2011 and beyond is to ensure the quality education customers have come to know and expect from PHS continues, launch an exciting new e-learning platform to provide access to fantastic education for all Physiotherapists, while further expanding the variety of educational courses and topics we provide.
Our aim is to provide educational opportunities for both new graduate and experienced clinicians and enhance clinical skills and knowledge for Physiotherapists. In 2011, Physiotherapy Healing Solutions re-branded to Clinical Edge to more accurately reflect the nature of the business, and to coincide with the launch of our new e-learning platform, complementing our face to face education.
When the education and skills carry over into the clinic, the improved results as well as the excitement of learning and using new information and techniques will keep Physios interested in staying in the profession. This will help some of our keenest minds to continue on with a very rewarding career as a Physio.
